Wheat futures registered broad-based declines across the three major exchanges on Monday, as contracts for Chicago SRW, KC HRW, and MPLS spring wheat all closed in negative territory.
Chicago SRW Leads Losses
Chicago SRW contracts led the losses, shedding between 2 ¼ and 5 cents by the close of trading. This movement reflects a notable downward pressure on the benchmark soft red winter variety, impacting market sentiment for the day.
HRW and Spring Wheat Follow
Similarly, KC HRW futures saw fractional to 4 ½ cent reductions on Monday, indicating weakness in the hard red winter segment. MPLS spring wheat also contributed to the complex’s retreat, with contracts down 3 3/4 to 6 3/4 cents, further solidifying the day’s negative trend.
The synchronized downturn across these key wheat varieties highlights a challenging session for the grain complex, with consistent selling pressure observed throughout the day.
