Micron Technology (MU) has issued a robust forecast for the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) market, projecting its total addressable market (TAM) to surpass $100 billion by 2027. This forward-looking assessment coincides with the company’s strategic decision to significantly elevate its capital expenditure for fiscal year 2026, targeting approximately $27 billion.

During the Q3 fiscal 2026 management view, Executive VP and CFO Mark Murphy provided insights into the company’s financial strength. Murphy expressed satisfaction, noting, “We’re really pleased with the financial trajectory of the business.” He further highlighted Micron’s operational success, stating the company is “delivering record cash flow numbers.” Murphy also clarified that capital returns are intrinsically tied to the company’s “cash durability,” indicating a disciplined approach to financial management and shareholder value creation, contingent on maintaining “appropriate excess” liquidity.
