This significant portion, amounting to C$5.5 billion, highlights the company’s deep integration of sustainability into its business strategy and operations, as detailed in its 19th annual Sustainability Report.

The report underscores a consistent upward trend in revenue derived from sustainability-focused work. Since Stantec began tracking this metric in 2019, when it accounted for 43% of total gross revenue, the figure has grown substantially, demonstrating a clear market demand and Stantec’s strategic alignment with global sustainability imperatives. This financial performance is further bolstered by the company’s operational achievements, including its fourth consecutive year of global operational carbon neutrality. Stantec continues to make progress toward net-zero emissions as part of Canada’s Net Zero Challenge.
Furthermore, Stantec’s commitment to climate action has been recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), from which it has earned an A- score for the eighth consecutive year. This consistent recognition from CDP signifies the company’s sustained efforts in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

- Canada: In Québec, Stantec provided building engineering services for Duravit’s new manufacturing facility, one of the first carbon-neutral facilities in the hygienic ceramic industry globally. The project’s design, utilizing hydro-powered electric kilns, is projected to reduce annual carbon dioxide equivalent emissions by nearly 9,000 tonnes.
- United States: In the Klamath Basin of Oregon and California, Stantec is a key partner in one of the nation’s largest ecosystem restoration efforts. Working collaboratively with Indigenous Nations and local stakeholders, the company’s engineers and ecologists are focused on revitalizing five fish-bearing tributaries, restoring approximately 3.4 miles (5.5 kilometers) of stream channel, 2,200 acres (890 hectares) of native vegetation, and over 400 miles (644 kilometers) of critical salmon habitat.
- United Kingdom: Stantec contributed to the Vyrnwy Frankton Grid Connection in Mid-Wales, a project designed to facilitate the integration of wind-generated electricity into the national grid. - New Zealand: Following extensive damage to over 311 miles (500 kilometers) of roads from severe flooding and landslides, Stantec partnered with the Marlborough District Council on a future access survey.
